His final word before Wrestlecon, Johnny made one point perfectly clear: He needs the win at Wrestlecon against the legend, Shingo. Not only needing the victory for himself, but for all the people who look up to him. Yet another intense promo against the Dragon Gate sensation, Johnny is one hundred and ten percent ready for Wrestlecon.
Teaming up with Josh Alexander to try and topple the group of Nixon once more, Johnny went into an impressive war in the tag team match. However, a distraction from the shocking Ethan Page allowed Nixon to gain the victory. Now 0-1 for tonight’s event, Johnny heads into the Gauntlet main event with more of a purpose than ever.
Coming in at number six, Johnny unfortunately didn’t succeed in winning Gauntlet for the Gold again, but all congratulations go out to Colin Delaney for his victory!
Gauntlet for the Gold. One of the most important shows of Absolute Intense Wrestling. Bringing the former return of Johnny Gargano, the tournament accepts only the best of the best. Getting involved in action TWICE on the event that takes place tomorrow night at the legendary Turners Hall in Cleveland, Ohio, Johnny will start off combating the ever-troublesome NIXON in tag team action. Numerous events have lead to Johnny and the bloodthirsty group to lock horns, and this one will certainly not lack the intensity that the other several had.
And of course, later on in the night, Johnny will take place in the 30-person “Gauntlet for the Gold” main event – where the winner earns a shot at Eric Ryan’s Absolute title. If yo’re in the Cleveland area, be sure to drop by and witness some of the absolute best independent wrestling the world has to offer.

One name. One person. One more obstacle to overcome to secure his name in the record books as the greatest talent that Dragon Gate USA has, or ever will have. SHINGO. His competition at Wrestlecon is arguably one of the largest physical challenges of his young life, and we do promise you a match of the ages. Listen to Johnny’s words towards the seemingly unstoppable SHINGO above.
Despite the crowd being behind him on Night One, the official PWG of Johnny Gargano ended on a sour note, but All-Star Weekend allowed him to make the most of the opportunity given to him. Heading into Night Two with another tag team match with Chuck Taylor, the duo took on the RockNES Monsters (Johnny Goodtime & Johnny Yuma), and Johnny seemingly earned his PWG stripes with his first victory after Hurts Donut to Yuma. Be sure to let PWG know that you MUST see him back in action!
Sashaying his way to the ring with tag team partner Chuck Taylor to the remarkable beat of “You Dropped a Bomb On Me,” it seemed that Johnny’s PWG debut was starting off on a high note. The California crowd heavily behind him, Johnny engaged in numerous spurts of fast-paced action alongside Chuck against the PWG Tag Team Champions. However, there can be such a thing that’s too good of a time, and Johnny and Chuck’s night came to a sour end: More Bang for Your Buck laying Johnny out for a loss on his official PWG debut.
After an offer shot out from Ricochet several days ago – the fast-paced superstar offering his services in a very… noble manner – Johnny Gargano responded late last night. Two drastically different men with morals on the opposite sides of the wrestling spectrum now create 2/3 of Team Gargano on April 7th at Wrestlecon.
A year long match in the making, tonight Johnny headed to Tampa to take on former F.I.S.T member – and the man he replaced – Gran Akuma. Words were spat back and forth between the two men, and ultimately, Gran won with a Tombstone Piledriver followed up into the Tenchi Crash.
Originally set up for tag team action with Chuck Taylor on both nights – the first set for action against the current champs, and recent DDT4 winners, the Young Bucks. Night Two WAS originally set for action against the ever-popular Super Smash Brothers, but a last minute change has now been put into place with the SSB not able to attend. In an equally as exciting match, they’ll be taking on the team of the RockNES Monsters!
