Just because some members of Fourth Gunn have left the building doesn’t mean Johnny still isn’t the champion!

November 22nd, Johnny visited up north in London, Ontario, Canada and defended his championship against a familiar foe: Sebastian Suave.

Results:

Johnny Gargano successfully defended the SMASH Championship against Sebastian Suave.

Congratulations!

So, Candice didn’t end up pregnant before this match. Hopefully one day. HOWEVER: this meant the match was still on and not only did it happen, we heard it was absolutely wild.

First off, we should mention that the newest member of Fourth Gunn is .. CHUCK TAYLOR. WHAT. We were shocked too. See him joining here.

Now onto results! Courtesy of PWPonderings!

Scotty O’Shea has a weird name. We know, we know. We’ll say it.

It’d sound even weird if SMASH Champion was added to it.

Which is why, when on July 19th SMASH rolled into town, we figured that he’d lose to Johnny and Johnny’d keep his title.

WE WERE RIGHT.

After a hard fought match, it almost looked like Scotty was going to skimp by with a victory.. until a masked man made his presence known and Johnny retained.

… though we know that even if that man HADN’T appeared, Johnny would’ve still retained. It’s fine. Don’t worry about it.

But now the question is.. who is it?

Johnny Gargano vs. Chris Hero vs. Josh Alexander.

Got your attention?

This match happened at SMASH Wrestling on May 17th. And if you’ve missed it, you can check it out on SMASH’s On-Demand service! Click here for that.

But if you keep these spoilers between you and me, you should know that Johnny retained his title after pinning Josh Alexander with a crucifix pin.

Also, GOLD featured the GOLD tournament, where the winner would get a shot at the SMASH title.. spoilers again! Candice LeRae won and will be facing off with Johnny at a later date!

Johnny just keeps adding those titles to his waist.

When will you???

At SMASH Wrestling’s event ‘The Art of War’, Johnny finally got what was deserved and he brought gold straight into FOURTH GUNN. Killin’ it, dude.

He faced off with longtime friend and foe, Matt Cross, for SMASH Wrestling’s championship and came out the victor. We hope he keeps the belt for a long, long time.

Maybe Johnny should wrestle in Canada more often. SMASH is pretty great, y’know. So is Canada as a whole. No biasedness whatsoever from us here at Johnny-Gargano.com.

Obviously.

Anyways, Johnny was back up in Canada and took on Tyson Dux. Yes, THAT Tyson Dux. That dude who is makin’ waves and showing off how great he’s become? Yep. Him.

So they wrestled. Someone won, someone lost.. and there was a bit of a surprise at the end of the show.

Johnny Gargano def Tyson Dux after countering a suplex into a cradle pin

Later on, as Chris Hero paid respect to Ciampa, they were attacked by Drew Gulak and TARIK. Matt Cross and Johnny came down to make the save but then Johnny did what no one expected him to. Turned on his good buddy ol’ pal Matt Cross and beat him down alongside Gulak and TARIK. Now known as Fourth Gunn, Gulak, TARIK, Gargano and Biff Busick have all the power in SMASH.. so they say.

For the next show, Johnny has challenged Matt Cross.

If you don’t know the name Josh Alexander, then you’ve been living under the rock. An impressive wrestler out of Canada, Josh has put on several clinics in 2014, and we were certain that tonight, he’d put on another. Taking on our good ol’ Cleveland boy, Gargano, Josh took on quite the fight. However, unfortunately for all of us, and for Johnny, Josh managed to pull out ahead with the victory — proving why he might just be the future of the independent scene.

However, all of us are hoping for a rematch.

…And maybe twenty more after that.

SMASH is without a doubt one of the future companies of the independent scene, with talent overrunning in every single division. As one of the men who’s been there for quite some time, it’s not a surprise to see him returning at every chance possible, and this time, he got a match that had more promise than any other. Taking on the magnificent Gregory Iron, Johnny managed to walk away with another SMASH victory in the bag. But we’re sure there were no hard feelings, and a bromantic hug soon followed.

Congratulations on the victory, Johnny!

It doesn’t matter how many times they compete, Matt Cross and Johnny Gargano always bring it.

In a first round match up in the Smash Wrestling Title tournament, the two longtime friends reminded everyone just why they are two of the best faces in independent wrestling today. The two men were willing to do anything to obtain the victory, even with Johnny pulling at Cross’ infamous beard, but it seemingly wasn’t enough to gain the victory. Though he gave his all in the E-Zone in Toronto, Johnny fell victim to Cross and was officially removed from the title tournament.

We’re sorry, buddy. We’ll get you some gold!

We’ll keep our eyes and ears out for the DVD and when it’s able to be purchased, because we are positive that this is a match that you won’t want to miss.
