Even though the rift in FIST has caused consistent problems over the past several weeks, there was a shining bit of optimism. With Icacrus attempting to make everything go smoothly, FIST remained united, up until tonight, that is. In a six-man showdown, FIST took on the Special Envoy, but a miscommunication led to Johnny getting rolled up by Frightmare. Johnny was quick to place the blame on Sugar Dunkerton, laying him out with a Superkick, before Icarus speared Johnny. Infuriated, Johnny loudly proclaimed he was done with the group, perhaps officially leaving FIST?
A year long match in the making, tonight Johnny headed to Tampa to take on former F.I.S.T member – and the man he replaced – Gran Akuma. Words were spat back and forth between the two men, and ultimately, Gran won with a Tombstone Piledriver followed up into the Tenchi Crash.
What type of first name is “Gran” anyway? Did your Dad just get really lazy while filling out your birth certificate or something? Nonsensical first names aside…what are you crying about now? I swear, every single word out of your mouth anymore is “I used to do this,” “I was a part of that”…
This is a “what have you done for me lately” business, Akuma, and all you’ve done for anyone lately is sit at home, kick things, eat Cheetos (you look like a guy who enjoys a good Cheeto,) and watch me steal the show on CHIKARA’s iPPVs.
Yes, you were kicked out of F.I.S.T., the group you helped form. Yes, I took your spot. Just get over it! Move on, Granpa. You’re like the clingy ex-girlfriend that creeps on your Facebook, and just can’t accept the fact that it’s over. Sure, you had a good run, had some good times, but F.I.S.T. just outgrew you, Akuma. You’re a 5 – 5 & 1/2 tops, and they dumped you for a perfect 10, my man. Look at yourself, and then look at me…can you blame them?
Man, for a “Mysterious, Mythological Warrior from Afar!” you sure are bitter…but, you know what? The fact that you managed to actually pin me in that 3-on-1 Handicap Match still has me a tad bit bitter. So you want me in Tampa? You got it. You say that you were the guy that made people initially fear F.I.S.T.? Well, I’m most certainly not afraid of you. You better clean that cheese off your fingers, pal, because you have no idea what’s in store for you in a few weeks, and what was that you said? Pretty boys rarely grow up to be tough guys? Aw, that’s adorable. I am a good looking boy, but on March 8th, this ravishing lad is going to show you why we kicked you out of F.I.S.T. in the first place.
The first thing you’re probably thinking is – it’s weird that F.I.S.T. didn’t win King of Trios. I totally agree.
What makes it even weirder is that we had a new guy in the mix, assigned to us by the Director of Fun himself.
Sugar Dunkerton was given a spot in the world’s most dangerous trio. He didn’t earn that spot. It was just given to him. We’re the most decorated threesome in CHIKARA history. Go check Wikipedia. It’s all right there. Well, we were.
But when you assign us one of the losingest guys on the roster, guess what? Even the very best of us can get dragged down.
Our waterboy should refresh us. Instead, I am feeling anything but fresh.
On this week’s edition of Podcast-A-Go-Go, F.I.S.T makes an appearance from Night One of the King of the Trios tournament as they squared off against Team Osaka Pro. The near four minute preview of the exciting match that is full of shenanigans unfortunately does not have Johnny directly involved: Only seeing him jumping around on the apron like a mad man. However, you can purchase King of Trios Night One right NOW from Smart Mark Video to see it complete and him in roaring action!
One of the most anticipated matches of the show, Johnny Gargano teamed up with FIST partner, Chuck Taylor, to take on the team of 3.0. Many words exchanged between the two groups over the past few weeks, many questioned who exactly would get the third point, and an opportunity to once more become the Campeones de Parejas. Would FIST manage to get the edge and become the first ever three time Campeones, or would 3.0 finally get the edge over the established team?
In a match full of action, the two groups wrestled for 13 minutes with 3.0 scoring their third point after a wheelbarrow lungblower, crushing the dreams of FIST’s third chance.
Is there any 90 lb. Tatanka-garb wearing girls from Japan roaming Philly right now, by any chance?
